Using a Cauldron and an Auto-Clicker

This method uses a cauldron and an auto-clicker to automate lava production. Fill a cauldron with water and place a cobble generator next to it. Use the auto-clicker to continuously place cobblestone into the cauldron. The cobblestone will heat up the water and eventually turn it into lava.

Automating Obsidian Production

Using the More Cauldrons Mod

The More Cauldrons mod adds additional types of cauldrons to Minecraft. One of these cauldrons is the obsidian cauldron. You can fill the obsidian cauldron with lava and water, and it will automatically create obsidian. To automate this process, you can use a hopper to feed lava and water into the cauldron.

Using Industrial Foregoing

Industrial Foregoing is a mod that adds a machine called the "fluid extractor". This machine can be used to extract liquids from containers. You can place a fluid extractor next to a lava pool and set it to extract lava. The lava will then be stored in the fluid extractor, and you can use it to create obsidian in an automated obsidian generator.
