Islam Makhachev will defend his lightweight championship against third-time title challenger Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 302. Makhachev is riding a 10-fight winning streak, while Poirier has won two straight since losing to Charles Oliveira in December 2021.

The co-main event of UFC 302 will feature a welterweight bout between Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns. Masvidal is a former two-time BMF champion, while Burns is a former lightweight title challenger.
