Lok Sabha Elections: Voting Ends in Tamil Nadu
Polling in Tamil Nadu for the 39 Lok Sabha seats along with 18 Assembly constituencies concluded peacefully on Thursday.
The polling percentage in Tamil Nadu was recorded at 72.06%, which is slightly lower than the 73.88% recorded in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
The ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is facing a tough challenge from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), which is leading a coalition of parties including the Congress.
The counting of votes will take place on May 23, and the results are expected to be declared by the evening.
