Dortmund Sends Forward Moukoko to Nice

A New Chapter

German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund has announced that 18-year-old forward Youssoufa Moukoko will join French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice on loan for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.

Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl explained the decision, saying, "This loan move is a good opportunity for Youssoufa to gain regular playing time and continue his development at a high level." Kehl added that Moukoko will return to Dortmund in the summer with "valuable experience" to contribute.

Moukoko's Journey

Early Promise

Born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Moukoko moved to Germany at the age of 10 and joined Dortmund's youth academy in 2016.

He quickly became one of the most highly rated young players in the world, breaking several age-related scoring records.

First-Team Breakthrough

Moukoko made his senior debut for Dortmund in 2020 and has since made 59 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals.

In 2021-22, he became the youngest player to score 10 Bundesliga goals in a single season.

Challenges and Opportunity

However, Moukoko has faced challenges this season, struggling for game time with Dortmund's new signing Anthony Modeste in the center-forward role.

This loan move to Nice presents an opportunity for Moukoko to regain his form and prove his worth ahead of a crucial summer when Dortmund will decide on his future.
